Michael is 28
Not only do we celebrate Isaac's birthday in January, but 3 days later we celebrate Michael's as well. This year Michael really wanted to try fondue. So his gift was naturally a fondue pot. We were lucky enough to have my parents in town at the same time so we had a fun celebration with them. We did the whole thing, appetizer, main course, and dessert. We started with a cheese sauce and had apples, bread, and some veggies to dip in it. For the main course we used peanut oil and had marinated beef and chicken. We made three dipping sauces for the meat, curry, onion horseradish, and Dijon mustard. They all were really yummy! Then to finish the fondue party we had chocolate with strawberries, marshmallows, bananas, and brownie bits. But then if that wasn't enough food we of course had to have a cake or in this case a pie. Michael wanted me to try a homemade peanut butter and chocolate pie. It was really rich but also very good. It was like eating a homemade peanut butter cup. This was my first time making peanut butter, and it turned out really good. It certainly isn't as creamy and smooth as store bought, and has a lot stronger peanut flavor, but it was a nice change. The whole birthday was really fun and yummy. I am really grateful to have Michael in my life. I don't know how I got so lucky!
