Princess, Pink, and Turning 5

On August 7th Emma had her 5th birthday, and of course Emma being Emma wanted to have a big party. Unfortunately since we are still pretty new here and a lot of people had been gone over the summer Emma hadn't made a whole lot of friends her age. Not wanting her to be without, however, there are a couple of families, with a little bit older kids, that Emma has totally fallen in love with. Instead of having a big just kid party for her we invited the Presslers and the Jessops over to join us for dessert. It was a blast. I think Emma had a really fun time. As her usual request we had a pink cheesecake. However, me being me, couldn't just leave it at that. We also had chocolate chip cookies, ice cream, and these tuxedo brownies, which are brownie bits with a cream cheese frosting and strawberries. We also had a really fun time decorating with these tissue paper pom poms I made, pink streamers, pink balloons, our bday banner, and princess deco. It all looked really fun. I was so happy that we were able to do something for her and that she had such a good time. The Presslers and Jessops were both so sweet in giving her a couple small gifts of strawberry shortcake, and dress up jewelry. Thank you for being so nice to our family!

So in this picture you only see Emma and 2 friends, we really had 13 kids and 6 adults in total there.

Well lucky for Emma since her birthday was on a Sunday this year the before mentioned party happen on Saturday, which means she had a family party the next day. We made her one of her favorite dinners, tortellini, and then let her blow out 5 more candles (instead of making a whole new cake, we lucked out and had 5 pieces of cheesecake left, which we just put a candle on each piece and it worked great!) She then got decked out in everything Disney Princess, and when I mean everything, I mean everything. She got a princess backpack and lunchbox for school, baby princess Aurora with pajamas, mini princess Tiana, a vinyl princess sticker book, oh and one Fancy Nancy sticker book. Needless to say she was in heaven! It always makes you feel good when you see your kids so happy. Thanks Gma & Gpa, and Oma & Opa for helping us make it such a happy 5th birthday for her.
