4th of July

So this year, two months ago actually, we had a fun 4th of July. I have found that finding and planning activities is not my strong spot; however, what is my strong spot is food. So while we kind of just relaxed and played with our new water slide as our activity, sadly they only do a Christmas parade here and the fireworks happen the Saturday before,  we had some really yummy food throughout the day. To begin the day we had breakfast with red, wheat, and blue whole wheat pancakes, with fun festive shapes in them, sausage, eggs, and milk. So lunch was just basic leftovers, but after such a big breakfast none of us were that hungry for lunch anyway and we wanted to save our stomachs for dinner. For dinner we had really really yummy bbq brisket, potatoe salad, fresh corn on the cob, and homemade strawberry lemonade. For dessert we enjoyed homemade vanilla ice cream with red strawberries, blueberries, and whip cream. While it was quite and not very busy we enjoyed being together as a family, grateful for our nations freedom and the men and woman who have brought us here.
