Going Bananas!

Because we had made so many wonderful friends, who really did an amazing amount of service to our family, while living in San Antonio we wanted to thank and say good-bye to all of them. We felt the easiest and funnest way to do that was to throw a "Banana Split, Split" party. Basically we invited a whole bunch of people over that first Saturday in July, decorated our house really fun, and had the works for banana splits. While not all of our friends were able to come, we still had around 10 to 15 families come, plus the kids. It was crazy fun! We were so happy to be able to see our friends one more time and be able to give some small thing back to them to say, thank you. We certainly miss all of you, but are grateful to have made those connections, and hope to be able to keep those friendships and memories alive.

We had chocolate and vanilla ice cream, bananas, and homemade caramel and chocolate sauce

Because it was so close to the 4th we went with a red, white and blue star theme.

We decided to go all out for the party and even made labels. They were as follows:
Bananas: split it
Ice cream: scoop it
Sauces: caramel and chocolate
Nuts, coconut, sprinkles: Sprinkle it
Whip cream: whip it
Cherries: top it
Cookies: eat it

The whole yummy deal

Emma with her favorite San Antonio person, Nathan. Just a note on Nathan, Emma just loved him and his younger brother, Bradley. Of course they were 18 and 14, but she thought they were so wonderful. Every Sunday she had to give each guy at least one hug during the course of the meetings. She still talks about them all of time and wishes she could see them. We sure miss them both, they were great guys, and we only hope that our boys turn out as great as these two young men.
