Emma's Preschool

We were so blessed to find an amazing preschool this past year, Sherwood Oaks Christian Preschool. It was just up the street from our house, making it possible to walk with friends when weather permitted, and was every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Emma just loved it. She learned so much and had a great teacher named Ms Kim. I loved that you could tell that the teachers loved their students, and that we were able to still teach values. This year they focused on the 10 Commandments. It was always entertaining to listen to Emma sing the many songs that they taught her, and to see the countless activities they did. I think she brought home 2 trees worth of paper. I am so glad that Emma had something to do that was fun, and educational. They ended this year with a fun recognition/ graduation. It was really cute. They had the classes sing a song, review the commandments they did this year, and then each kid was able to go up and say their name. It was darling!  I will miss Sherwood Oaks and am nervous for the upcoming adventure called Kindergarten!

Wow. Emma is so grown up. CAn you believe we have 5 year olds? It looks like your world is going well for you. We think of you guys and wish we were closer. Oh well. Maybe in the millenium, right? ANyway, I wanted to share an idea for the accumulation of papers. If you take a picture of each one of them, you can make a photo book like you can order online and give it to Emma as a gift. Lia didn't like me throwing away stuff until she saw that she had a book made up of things she had done. It's nice, too, because the book is small, but contains a huge volume of "papers". Good luck.
