All Things Halloween

We had a fun, and pretty quiet Halloween this year. The week before our ward had it's annual Trunk-or-Treat, with a kid's carnival and a dessert contest. It was well done and we had a really great turn out. Emma had a great time running around with all of the hyper kids. We did have to show her how trick-or-treating works, as she didn't quite understand why she needed to go to other people for candy, when I had a big bowl full in front of me. After a while she got the idea and didn't mind so much. By Halloween night she was a pro at the whole thing, and was excited to go out with Dad to get more chocolate.

This year we did simply costumes. We saw this idea on America's Funniest Home Videos. We are stick figures (and yes I am headless)

My wicked witch cupcakes. I have to admit I was hoping I would win something, but when someone else brought a fondant wrapped mummy cake, that looked amazing, I had no chance. These were still fun to make.

It took a lot of convincing to get Emma to stick her hand in there, and once she did we couldn't get her to do it again. She has a thing about sticking hands. :)

Michael took her to just a couple of houses, but she sure had fun. I have to admit, being a two year old you don't get the best candy. Probably half of her candy were Tootsie rolls. Oh well, it's probably better that way, because I wont' eat as much. :)
