Thanksgiving 09

We really enjoyed this last Thanksgiving. There was certainly a lot to be grateful for this year, as there is every year. One of the things I was especially grateful for was, my parents were able to drive down from Virginia and stay with us. We had a great time just visiting, experiencing true black Friday shopping for the first time (what a rush), playing, celebrating my birthday, putting up Christmas decorations, and especially eating. Mom and I did an awesome job with the Thanksgiving meal, probably one of the best I have ever had. Our menu consisted of Turkey (which was so moist and flavorful, something I was very proud of), gravy, mashed potatoes. green bean casserole, two kinds of rolls (to please both husbands), cranberry sauce, green jello, first try at homemade stuffing (never doing the box again), orange fluff, cranberry pomegranate slush, pumpkin and apple pie. "Holy Cow, that is a lot of food," Emma said. And it sure was. But man was it good.

That weekend was pretty cold, evidence by what Michael is wearing, but we still took time to play at the park.

All that food looks really delicious! What a fabulous spread. And good to hear that things are going well.
